Well, watched the SP. It was all a bit meh.
It's like they lost the effervescent 'seishun' feeling and were trying too hard to bring it back.
The script could have definitely been improved, I think.
The whole madcap dorm competition just wasn't the same as previous nutty escapades.
it's good they brought in Julia and Nakatsu's mum (except, where was the Osaka leopard print? WHERE?!).
The first half was fun because of Nakatsu, and the second half because of Sano.
Still, it was fun revisiting the Osaka Gakuen.
Banzai!

Wow. That's amazing. Almost a whole year plus ago.

Let's see what has changed. )

There's something about cool and balmy nights. As you walk, enjoying the gentle breeze, you can't help but feel compelled to share; share things you've never told another, share feelings and emotions you usually keep securely repressed.

It's as though saying those things under the blanket of darkness makes it less real, more like a story.

Therein lies the strange power of a clear night sky.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions and littered with sloppy analysis." -anonymous

Truer words, and all that.

Meant to do so much before Christmas rolled around, a wishlist being the least of it, and asyoucansee, nothing's up.

Did have a great dinner today though. Night at the Museum was a fun way to spend 2 hours - typical holiday family fare.

Also, I seem to have mild schizophrenia. This penchant for frequent layout adaptations is rather irksome. Must. Find. Permanent. Layout.
i.e. Must go and hook up bookmarked (and edited) CSS style sheet.

That is all.

P.S. Am currently re-reading Peter Mayle's 'French Lessons'. DAMN but I wish I could've gone to France in September. Visa and budget, I'm looking at you. -_-

Well, Saturday was fun. Nerve-wracking, but fun.

I was afraid it'd be a huge-ass crowd but it was rather small so in the end, it was just a few butterflies (HAHAHAHA) in my stomach.

While we sounded way better in the recording, I guess we didn't sound too bad given the odd volume balance of the mikes.

Was pleased to see my family and a few friends. Hung out till late in Far East Plaza then literally dragged our asses back home. Given the speed we were walking at, I think it's safe to say that my grandma could've walked faster. ;)

Still, I'm a bit reluctant to watch the video. Probably look like an idiot, heh. Oh well, that's something for another weekend.

Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young

Had dinner with V, who has clinched a rather fab internship that pays a frickin' fortune. (READ: Fortune = ANYTHING more than the negative value I'm 'earning' now.)

Dinner with V )
So, anyways, she brought up this straight-talking article we had read during one long-ago English lesson under an equally straight-talking teacher.

Enjoy:

'Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young'

by Mary Schmich of the Chicago Tribune (Published June 1, 1997)

Inside every adult lurks a graduation speaker dying to get out, some world-weary pundit eager to pontificate on life to young people who'd rather be Rollerblading. Most of us, alas, will never be invited to sow our words of wisdom among an audience of caps and gowns, but there's no reason we can't entertain ourselves by composing a Guide to Life for Graduates.

I encourage anyone over 26 to try this and thank you for indulging my attempt.

Ladies and gentlemen of the class of '97:

Wear sunscreen.

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.

The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind.
You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until...
